At MOVATI, we dedicate ourselves to making positive contributions to the lives of our members. Through motivation, guidance, and support, we work hard to impact their fitness journey every step of the way. This commitment to health and wellness extends to our communities through our MOVATI Cares program.
MOVATI Cares is focused on making a meaningful difference in the lives of everyone in our community so we can all live healthy, vibrant, and fulfilled lives. With this goal in mind, we proudly support Feed Ontario and Edmonton’s Food Bank, two organizations committed to building healthy communities and ending food insecurity.
Each of our clubs are partnered up with a local food bank in their community. Amherstburg Food and Fellowship Mission

Our mission is simple but vital — to feed the hungry, care for those in need, and uplift our community through compassion and service.
Key Statistics and Growth Trends
- Food Baskets Distributed:
- 2024: 312 Children, 678 adults — 14,610 lbs of food (+14.9% increase from 2023; +28.5% overall since 2022)
- Hot Meals Served:
- 2025 (projected): approximately 17,000 meals — showing a steady 8.4% increase over the past three years.
These numbers reflect the growing demand for food assistance in our community and the increasing challenges local families face with food insecurity and the rising cost of living.
Kingsville Community Food Bank

Mission: The Kingsville Community Food Bank is a non-profit charitable community organization which seeks to improve the quality of lives of the residents of this area through a food security program.
Key Statistics:
- 2024: Provided food to 7352 people living in Kingsville, Cottam and Ruthven.
- More than 2400 of those are children aged 0-18 and more than 400 aged 65+.
- Our number of new families last year was up by 100.
- Mucci Farms donates fresh produce every week including cucumbers, lettuce, peppers and tomatoes. We also provide our clients with meat and dairy on top of regular pantry items. These items are purchased with the money that is donated.
- We are a 100% volunteer based organization.
Windsor UHC Hub of Opportunities

Founded in 1977, UHC – Hub of Opportunities is a not-for-profit charitable organization dedicated to meeting the needs of vulnerable people living in Windsor and Essex County. We improve quality of lives by providing essential programs and services that move people to independence and allow them to achieve their desired outcomes. Our 26 programs and services focus on; basic human needs, employment services, training and education, and newcomer settlement services.
Key Statistics:
- 2024: Total number of visits: 234,256 with 30% of the visits were children
- Community Kitchen meals: 257,895 (total meals provided for Meals on Wheels, Farm to Food soups, etc. during the fiscal year – April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025)
- From 2023 to 2024 food bank usage increased by 11%
- West Windsor has the highest children poverty rate in all of Canada
The Food Bank of York Region

Mission: To alleviate severe food insecurity in York Region by providing a central hub to distribute healthy surplus food to nonprofit organizations that provide food services to at-risk residents.
Our Solution: The FBYR works to ensure access to healthy food options through our mobile food bank program and our community partner network. We have expansive refrigeration capacity to collect and deliver large donations of fresh and frozen foods.
Key Statistics:
- 2024: Over 37,000 people in York Region and the surrounding area had access to food when they needed it.
- 2024: 244,939 total visits to our network for food assistance
- Nearly 14% increase in people served
- 21% more households served
- ADULTS: 60.9%
CHILDREN: 29.7%
SENIORS: 9.4% - 2024: $9.9 Million worth of food distributed
- 60% of the food distributed in 2024 was fresh or frozen food
- For every $1 dollar donation, our Food Bank distributed over $5 worth of food
Mississauga Eden Food Bank for Change

Mission: Eden Food for Change is committed to increasing access to good food in a dignified manner, developing food skills to encourage healthy eating and empowering the community through education, outreach and advocacy.
Key Statistics: From Jan-Oct 2025
- Served 39706 individuals to date – 40% were children
- Gave out 530,640 lbs of food
- Local insecurity rate – fluctuate depending on the time of the year, we see an increase in users between October to December
Burlington Food Bank

Mission: To build food security in Burlington by providing access to fresh and nutritious food with dignity and kindness.
Key Statistics:
- A client can visit our food bank once every three weeks, and we provide between seven and ten days’ worth of food and hygiene products.
- In 2024, Burlington residents utilized a food bank for a total of 36,946 visits.
- 38% of food ban users are employed but unable to make ends meet
- 34% of food bank visitors are children
Brantford Food Bank

- Increase in Demand: 80% increase in demand for Food Bank services over the past four years (comparing 2020–2021 to 2024–2025).
- Local Food Insecurity:
- 1 in 10 people in Brantford accessed Community Resource Service (CRS) support last year.
- 1 in 6 households in Brantford are currently food insecure.
- Food Distribution Totals:
- 2024–2025 Fiscal Year: 797,638 lbs of food distributed.
- April 2025 – October 2025: 558,233 lbs already distributed.
Waterloo Food Bank

Our Vision: A Waterloo region where no one experiences hunger.
Our Mission: Through community collaboration, we obtain and distribute essential food from our neighbours for our neighbours.
Key Statistics:
- Last year over 73,600 people accessed a food assistance program in Waterloo region. (35% of these individuals were children under the age of 18)
- 1 in 8 households in Waterloo region relies on food assistance. The year before was 1 in 10, two years ago it was 1 in 14 and three years ago it was in 1 in 20.
- 2024: The Food Bank distributed 8.9 million pounds of food.
The increases in demand for food assistance that we’ve seen over the past few years highlight the deepening challenges faced by our community. 25 percent increases year over year, more individuals and families are struggling with basic needs.
Guelph Food Bank

Simply put, we provide food relief for those in need.
We provide emergency food supports to individuals faced with any form of financial hardships.
In a world that produces enough food to feed everyone, nobody should be going hungry, but hunger for many is an unfortunate reality. We aim to alleviate these effects by connecting those in need with supplemental food supports that might otherwise be out of reach.

Ottawa Food Bank

Mission is to provide healthy, sustainable food for all and we have the goal of ending food insecurity in our city by 2050.

- Over 1 in 4 households in Ottawa are experiencing food insecurity.
- Of those accessing emergency food programs, 35% are children and youth under the age of 18.
Kanata Food Cupboard

Mission: To offer the heathiest food choices and support to those we serve by engaging and inspiring our volunteers, donors, partners, and community.
Vision: A resilient Kanata community where individuals and families can thrive. As a welcoming organization, we serve the community regardless of race, ethnicity, ability, age, sexual orientation, or religion.
Key Statistics:
We continue to see a steady rise in the number of families reaching out for support each month.
- In October alone, we served 508 families, totaling 2,126 individuals, including 909 children—our highest numbers to date.
- For comparison, our monthly average in 2024 was 418 families.
Edmonton’s Food Banks

Mission: To be stewards in the collection of surplus and donated food for the effective distribution, free of charge, to people in need in our community while seeking solutions to the causes of hunger.
We envision a community where hunger does not exist, where all citizens have access to an adequate and nutritious supply of food.
Key Statistics:
- Our average number of people served in the Hamper Programs in 2024 was 41,697 people.
- In addition to the Hamper Programs, we are providing over 500,000 meals and snacks monthly through 380+ agencies, soup kitchens, shelters, schools, and community groups. These partners are serving and supporting vulnerable, low income people.
- Monthly average number of children served fluctuates between 35-37%
- 2024: We collected, sorted, and redistributed 5,604,034 kilograms of food
- As of the end of September 2025, we have 4,557,302 kilograms of food already!
Edmonton’s Food Bank is expanding its work through new depots and additional programs beyond food distribution.
The organization supports self-reliance around food through Collective Kitchens, Community Gardens, & a Seed Bank
The Beyond Food program provides broader support, including:
- Employment assistance and skill development
- Navigation to other helpful organizations
- ESL and conversational English opportunities
- Safety ticket acquisition
